10 Disney Trip Packing Essentials

There is a lot to think about when planning a trip to Disneyland Paris and to help make your packing easier, I’m sharing our top 10 essentials to pack for a trip to Disney!

1. Vacuum pack bag

It is amazing just how much vacuum pack bags can free up space in the suitcase. I know you are thinking we won’t have a vacuum when on holiday so why is this on the list? You don’t have to use a vacuum! You can just roll them/compress them by hand to press out the air!

We have loved these Protect & Store 10 Piece Vacuum Bag Storage Set for many years and while they are most effective with a vacuum to compress it, rolling also works really well.  More space in the suitcase means more room for Disney souvenirs!

2. Travel adaptor

If you are travelling from the UK, then you’ll need a travel adaptor to charge your electronic devices! We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel as they did have one plug socket in the room which was suitable for the UK electronics.

3. Ponchos

While they do sell rain ponchos inside the Disneyland Parks, they are quite expensive and costs more than £10 for just one poncho!  I recommend purchasing the ponchos before you go as then the money saved can be for something else in the parks.

You can get a 3 pack of disposable rain ponchos from Amazon for £5.99!

4. Waterproof trainers

While we are on the topic of weather, I recommend bringing a pair of waterproof trainers. I have worn the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Shield for many years and love them!  They are very comfortable, which is super important for all the walking in the Disney parks!

Here’s the link to a newer version of the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus shield shoes.

If you are looking for comfortable trainers, I love the Geox Jaysen trainers. They are the main pair of shoes that I wear for our Disney trips. A few years ago, I bought the Minnie and Mickey version of the Geox Jaysen sneakers. They are so cute!

5. Portable charger

We take a lot of photos and videos on our trips and I find that really drains the battery on our phones so don’t forget to bring a portable charger.

6. Park Bag

Bringing a lightweight backpack is so useful for the long days in the Disney parks! I love the Disney Loungefly backpacks like this one as it is just the perfect size to fit my park bag essentials. My park bag essentials include a water bottle, portable charger, sunscreen, hand sanitiser and snacks and it isn’t heavy!

7. Disney ears

I always have at least one pair of Disney ears for our Disney trips!

Top Tip!

There’s a lovely selection of Disney ears from the Disney Store so it’s worth seeing if you can get a pair when it’s on sale as then it will be cheaper than buying from the parks.

If you want a pair of Disneyland Paris Disney ears, they have one at the Disney Store online!

8. Camera

We use the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as our main camera. One of my favourite things about this is camera is that you can go from forward facing and then to selfie mode whilst recording. This was our first trip to Disney with our baby and I loved that I could take videos of the rides and quickly switch to selfie mode to record his ride reactions! We have some wonderful memories of his first trip to Disney on video that’ll I’ll treasure.

It also has mechanical stabilisation so the footage isn’t shaky so I could take videos as we are walking through the park!

It’s also a very lightweight and small camera. It is 200g in weight, which is around the weight of an orange and fits into to my coat pocket.

The main downside for me is that it isn’t waterproof. If you are looking for a great compact lightweight camera to record your Disney memories then I recommend this!

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 costs £489 and we purchased the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creater Combo for £619 as it also has the battery handle, the tripod, DJI mic 2 transmitter and a carry case.

9. Medicines

Don’t forget to pack medicines that you might need, such as paracetamol. There isn’t a pharmacy in Disneyland Paris.

10. Baby carrier

We travelled to Disney with a 10 month old baby and it’s so much more convenient to use a baby carrier as you can’t take the pram into the ride queues.  I also found it easier to use a baby carrier to go on the rides. We use the Baby Bjorn Harmony 3D Mesh baby carrier and have been impressed with the comfort and quality.

Here’s an extra tip for you! The character costumes are quite expensive in the parks. It costs €70 euros for a princess dress! You can get a princess dress for £35 from the Disney Store. It’s currently on sale too at the moment.
