How to decide whether to add a Disneyland Paris meal plan
Sharing the key things to consider when deciding whether you want to add a meal plan or not! I have also summarised in a table which Disneyland Paris restaurants are available with the different meal plans.
First, a quick overview of how the Disneyland meal plans work.
- Meal plans are for guests staying at a Disney Hotel
- There are three different meal plan types: Breakfast only, Half Board and Full board. Half board includes breakfast and includes one other meal (lunch or dinner). Full board includes 3 meals a day.
- Once you know which plan you would like, they have different options. The Standard, Plus and Premium options are based on the hotel you are staying at and have difference prices. The Extra Plus option is available for all the Disney Hotels except the Disneyland Hotel but is only for the Full Board Meal Plan and for arrivals from 1 April 2025.
Here are the details of the options from the Disneyland Paris website:

Key things to consider when adding a Disneyland meal plan:
1. Your budget
You might want to consider what your overall budget is for your trip. There are a lot of places to eat in Disneyland Paris from budget friendly restaurants to more expensive restaurants with a wide assortment of food and fantastic theming.
2. Length of your trip
If you’re only going for one or two days you might want to maximise your time on rides or if you have a longer trip like we did, you might want a more relaxing trip with plenty of time spent in the restaurants such as an all you can eat buffet or a three course meal. If you have the time, this is great as you can have a nice balance between going on rides, eating and resting.
3. Restaurant prices
I recommend researching the restaurants as they have different pricing and when you know the menu prices, it’s easier to calculate whether a meal plan is worth adding.
4. Amount of food
You also want to think about the amount of food because sometimes for the meal plan to be worth, you might end up going to a buffet or a three course meal. Not everyone wants to have a three course meal or a buffet every day as that’s quite a lot of food! It depends how much you eat and if you have fussy eaters in your party.
5. Dietary requirements
There’s also dietary requirements to consider as for example, if you’re a
vegetarian and you are going to a buffet that costs £40 for an adult, you’ll need to decide if it’s worth it to pay that amount when you have limited food options.
6. Preferred restaurants
It’s also helpful to have a shortlist of restaurants that you really want to go to and make the dining reservations before deciding to add a meal plan. You can make the hotel booking first and then add the meal plan at a later date once you have had time to calculate whether a meal plan is worth it.
7. Planning
One important consideration is how much planning you want to do. I really like to plan my trip very thoroughly and also book all the restaurants in advance but others prefer to go with the flow and decide at the time.
8. Amount of time before you go on your trip
Lastly you want to think about the amount of time before you go on your
Disneyland Paris trip because the earlier that you book your restaurants, the more likely you’ll have availability. We had 1.5 months before we were due to go on our trip and there was some restaurant availability but then it was quite hard to book restaurants like Walt’s – An American restaurant. I have to keep checking on the app for it!
